The Retter BioGut is the cradle of the Hirschbirn. Our foods grow in Eastern Styria and in our own organic orcharding, which are certified for 25 years. In the RETTEREI you can cost, buy and enjoy our home-baked bread, ice cream, herbs, jams, distillates and much more. We are happy to host groups up to 80 people on the large nature park terrace with view and in the RETTEREI.

Here holistic lifestyle seminars such as bee-courses, Bokashi workshops, bread-baking courses, herbal workshops, etc. will take place in the future, as well as guided tours through the production facility and the energy-optimized building.

Opening hours of the organic shop

Monday – Thursday:  8 am – 12 pm

Friday, Saturday: 10 am – 6 pm

Sunday: 8.30 am – 12.30 pm

In the Retterei with our organic shop you can taste four organic Hirschbirn specialties. Tastings also include a Retter Bio-Dudler (a special organic drink) as a soft drink.

Organic bread and pastries for at home

It is very important for us to bake healthy bread in a traditional way. Every day you can enjoy our fresh organic pastries. On Tuesdays we bake gluten-free.

Every day we serve fresh organic bread and pastries to our hotel reception by reservation. Until 8.00 pm you can hand in your shopping list at the hotel reception or you can order to: or by phone: 43 3335 2690. The pastries are available from 8 o’clock at the hotel reception.

Baking bread at the Retter BioGut

Baking bread is more than kneading water, flour and salt to a pastry. It gives joy, gives a sense of independence and happiness. Home-baked bread is valuable and nourishing.

In our baking workshop at the Retter BioGut you will bake three different bread rolls and two varieties of organic bread with our baker.

Each guest get one small organic bread for at home.
